On its album Mies ("Man"), The Polytech Choir ponders the different sides of masculinity. The music for male choir does reveal a much broader and more complex male mindscape than is often credited. And while it is true that traditional pathos are indeed salient features, it is also possible to find warmth, sensitivity and tenderness.

Everlasting themes – loving and abandonment, responsibility and concern, courage and the follies of war are spoken themes even today. These themes are skillfully rendered by The Polytech Choir through both classical and modern works. The newest pieces are awarded works from the centenary composition contest and premiere records. The release is the first made with the artistic director Juha Kuivanen.
